How eager is Jermaine Jones to make his long-awaited debut for the U.S. national team against Poland in Chicago on Saturday?

The hard-tackling Bundesliga standout decided to take some extra rest from his club duties over the weekend, getting himself sent off with a second yellow card 53 minutes into Schalke's 2-1 loss to Nurnberg.

Kidding aside, Jones is looking forward to finally appearing for the Americans even more than U.S. fans are looking foward to seeing him. He's grateful to Bob Bradley and the national team's extended staff, whom he credits for his recovery from the shin injury that cost him the entire 2009-10 season and 2010 World Cup.

To read about Jermaine Jones' long road back to playing for the Yanks, including how he finally got healthy and what his future holds, you must be an ESPN Insider.
