PRETORIA, South Africa -- Bob Bradley is a tough man to read, and when he was asked last week whether central defender Oguchi Onyewu was ready to play 90 minutes against England, his answer -- "Sure" -- wasn't exactly a sign of conviction.

Maybe Bradley knew Onyewu, coming off a torn patellar tendon suffered in October, was up to the task of chasing Wayne Rooney and wrestling with Emile Heskey and jumping with Peter Crouch all night. And maybe he didn't.

To read about how Oguchi Onyewu demonstrated against England that he's fully recovered and ready to play -- plus other great analysis, news, notes and exclusives from South Africa -- you must be an ESPN Insider.
