What are expectations now for U-20s?
It's hard to find too much to complain about in the United States under-20s' 4-2 victory over Canada on Tuesday night.
The offense clicked. There was a come-from-behind effort. The U.S. dominated much of the match. Most importantly, the team qualified for the World Cup -- something a more talented group failed to do two years ago in Guatemala.
Sure, it was sloppy at times. Sure, the defense needs work. Sure, the team didn't really snap out of its tournament-long funk until Canada took a stunning lead midway through the first half.
That goal, beautifully orchestrated by a Canadian midfielder with far too much time and space on his hands, may have done Tab Ramos' squad a favor. We saw an immediate reaction, and an American juggernaut that begin to click on all cylinders for the first time this cycle.
