While a number of American players have made the jump to Europe this winter -- more than a dozen are on MLS offseason training stints abroad -- the rumor mill has been unusually quiet for Americans potentially headed abroad in the upcoming transfer window.
With scores of Americans playing across the Atlantic, Europe, it seems, has gotten most of what it wants from American talent for the time being. But there are exceptions, as well as a number of Europe-based Americans attracting attention elsewhere on the continent.
Here are some of the top transfer rumors brewing for Americans this winter.
Jozy Altidore to Chelsea (England), Fiorentina (Italy)
