Holden's injury is no reason to panic

There is no question the news that Stuart Holden will be sidelined another six months is crushing for the snake-bit American midfielder and his dead-last Premier League club, Bolton Wanderers.

The question is, how devastating is the diagnosis for the U.S. national team?

Make no mistake, Jurgen Klinsmann's squad will miss the 26-year-old while the German coach continues to assess his player pool ahead of next year's start of World Cup qualifying.

But that first meaningful match still is almost nine months away -- plenty of time for a fit, healthy Holden to get ready.
