Rule change hurting youth development
The outstanding results obtained this summer by Mexican youth teams at the under-17 and under-20 World Cups made it easy enough to agree that Mexican clubs are doing something right in terms of developing talent. The U-17s, of course, won the World Cup, while the U-20s returned home triumphantly from Colombia with a third-place finish, ready to develop into a new generation of Mexican stars. It was only a question of how long it would take for the group to begin to shine.
