Entering Week 2, Green Bay Packers running back Brandon Jackson and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick were the top free-agent pickups in ESPN leagues. I couldn't argue with adding either guy, though it was clear long-term opportunity knocked for just one of them (Jackson). Say what you will about Atlanta Falcons running back Jason Snelling and add him if you must, but unless the Michael Turner injury is a lot worse than everyone thinks, he's a lot more like Vick than Jackson.
Let's give Snelling credit for exposing the matador Arizona Cardinals defense for 129 rushing yards, 57 more through the air and three total touchdowns in Sunday's rout, but fantasy owners shouldn't react to this by making Snelling a highly owned fantasy commodity, at least not yet. While the case can be made Vick is better than incumbent starter Kevin Kolb -- and Kolb will start in Week 3 at Jacksonville -- there's no such controversy in Atlanta. Snelling is not being discussed today as a potential starter.
For Eric's take on the Chiefs' running back situation and more, you must be an ESPN Insider.
