Eli Manning? That was supposed to be a strong Redskins defense, and Manning isn't generally known as a strong December quarterback. So much for that; time to rethink his value. In fact, it's time to rethink how all the quarterbacks in the supposedly run-oriented NFC East are viewed, because all of them are in the top 15 in quarterback fantasy scoring this season, and there doesn't appear to be an end in sight.
We've discussed the change in approach of the NFC East teams quite a bit this season, as four top-20 running backs on draft day from the NFC East became non-fantasy entities as time went on. I wrote about Brian Westbrook on Monday, and hey, it's great that he's back, but don't get too excited about the quantity of touches he'll get this week. Marion Barber and Brandon Jacobs have managed to stay semi-healthy but have hardly matched expectations; I don't even rank them in the top 20 among running backs anymore. And don't even ask about the Redskins; yes, Quinton Ganther did score another touchdown Monday, but if you thought he looked good rushing 10 times for 21 yards, then we were watching a different football game.
