The team tied with the St. Louis Cardinals for the most home runs in the major leagues after the first week? The Arizona Diamondbacks. Granted, those home runs came against two teams with a combined winning percentage of .423 in 2009, the San Diego Padres and the Pittsburgh Pirates, but I said during the preseason that this team likely would score more runs than many expected.

Part of that output was from two players looking for bounce-back seasons, Chris Young and Kelly Johnson, who have three homers each. Although it still is obviously very early, there are scouting signs their surges have some legitimacy and could lead to solid seasons for both.

For detailed scouting reports on why Chris Young and Kelly Johnson are improving, you must be an ESPN Insider.
