As the four drivers of Hendrick Motorsports assemble for a preseason photo, Jimmie Johnson, the four-time, defending Sprint Cup champion, takes his rightful position up front, flanked by Jeff Gordon, his mentor and fellow four-time champ. Mark Martin, the elder statesman of the sport, and Dale Earnhardt Jr., the most popular driver in NASCAR, fill out the lineup. Their white-collared button-down shirts scream corporate America; their smiles project confidence. All together, arms crossed and eyes twinkling, the four-headed superpower conveys a simple message to the rest of NASCAR: We will not be beat.
