The city of Charlotte and the Lowe's, er, Charlotte Motor Speedway have long had an interesting relationship. The Speedway, which sits about 20 minutes north of downtown, has gone about its business since 1960, largely ignored by the stuffed shirt bankers in the city to the south. For decades the racetrack has tried dozens of different ways to get the suits' attention.
