With the season fast winding down, the race for the Calder Trophy remains surprisingly wide-open. In all likelihood it will come down to which young star shines brightest in the final two weeks of the regular season. While only one will claim the hardware, there is no doubt there is a lot of top-notch talent breaking into the NHL this season. So, as we evaluate the rookie of the year race below, remember that there are things more important than trophies in a prospect's development. That said, here's a look at my top Calder candidates thus far. (Note: Statistics are through April 14).
