This year's trade deadline may be remembered for its quiet start, but there were some major prospects moved at the wire.

While we previously examined the prospects shipped to the Calgary Flames in the Jarome Iginla trade, here's a breakdown of the top prospects moved on deadline day, starting with the No. 2 prospect in the Caps' system, Filip Forsberg. To sum up, let's just say the Nashville Predators should be thrilled with the player they acquired on Wednesday.

Here's a look at the top prospects traded on deadline day.

Prospect acquired: RW Filip Forsberg

The Capitals have played very well of late and general manager George McPhee is posturing for the playoffs by acquiring the services of Martin Erat from the Predators. A top-six forward who brings energy, skating and skill, Erat is coming from a system where he learned to play very responsibly in his own end. McPhee clearly thinks a lot of the 31-year-old right wing from the Czech Republic, as the asking price was steep.
