NHL draft: Best Day 2 prospects
Super Swedes should go early in Round 2
The first 30 picks of the 2012 NHL draft are in the books, but there's still plenty of value to be found on Day 2. In fact, we've already heard about teams near the top of Round 2 getting calls from other teams interested in moving up.
After the dominance of the Swedes in recent drafts, a few surprises remain on the board, most notably Sebastian Collberg. We had listed him at No. 21 on our final prospect rankings, while NHL Central Scouting ranked him as the No. 3 European skater. He's joined on the board by fellow Swede Pontus Aberg, our No. 20 prospect and No. 6 per CSS.
I expect both will be snatched off the board early on Day 2, but there are a few other solid talents who could be targeted at the start of the round. Here's a look at my top 10 remaining prospects as the draft continues Saturday.
