Jonathan Quick's big weak spot

The New Jersey Devils and Los Angeles Kings have been notable for reaching the Stanley Cup finals despite never once enjoying home-ice advantage to date in the playoffs. A huge part of that road success has been the play of their goaltenders, particularly in L.A. The Kings beat the top three seeds in the West due in large part to netminder Jonathan Quick. Quick has amassed a 12-2 postseason record with a 1.54 GAA and a .946 save percentage. On the road he won eight straight while allowing just 13 goals on 251 shots in 504 minutes.

Quick also led the league with 10 shutouts during the regular season and had a .929 save percentage, good for fifth overall and a shot at the Vezina Trophy, awarded to the league's best netminder.

He has looked invulnerable at times, but a close examination of the goals scored against him shows that Quick does have a weakness, and if the New Jersey Devils are going to hoist the Cup, they are going to need Petr Sykora, Patrik Elias and Dainius Zubrus to exploit it.
