The Atlanta Thrashers are proof teams don't need to spend a ton of salary-cap money to buy success in the NHL.

A league-wide analysis reveals that the Thrashers -- spending just $407,838 per projected point -- are getting more bang for their buck than any other team in the league so far this season.
