Upstarts Simeon Varlamov and Jonas Hiller proving fresh legs more important than sea legs
Anaheim's Jonas Hiller and Washington's Simeon Varlamov were relative unknowns two weeks ago. The 26-year-old Hiller has spent his rookie season splitting time with former Cup winner Jean-Sebastien Giguere, while the 20-year-old Varlamov is a recently promoted and essentially unknown backup of Jose Theodore. Though they were playoff neophytes when they entered round one of the Stanley Cup playoffs, they have proved instrumental in advancing their teams.
