A chance at making the NHL playoffs can be a powerful catalyst for change, and sure enough, three of the most active teams at the NHL trade deadline are also three teams fighting for the final two spots in the Eastern Conference playoff race. The Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes all made a splash on deadline day, but will the moves give them the boost the each need to make the postseason?
