Despite trades, strong start, Rangers likely to miss playoffs
Antropov and Morris probably not enough to push Rangers into postseason
Clinging to one of the final playoff spots in the Eastern Conference, the New York Rangers boosted their chances at the trade deadline by adding forward Nik Antropov from Toronto and defenseman Derek Morris from Phoenix. However, with the Carolina Hurricanes in hot pursuit, the moves may not be enough to push the Blueshirts into the postseason.

Despite a busy day at the trade deadline, the Rangers might not have added enough strength to compensate for a brutal home stretch to their schedule.
