It's easy to spot Mike Modano in the hockey universe. The center is a star among Stars. Or, as Dallas GM Doug Armstrong puts it, "He's the face of our franchise."
And still a baby face, despite his 35 years and a host of recent troubles: a trusted financial adviser who mismanaged Modano's millions, his career-worst 2003-'04 season, the lockout and a near divorce from the club that drafted him first overall in 1988.
Under a new attitude and new NHL, we're seeing the old Mike Modano.
