As the Memorial Cup continues, here's a look at whose draft stock is on the rise and who's slipping back during the CHL action.
Risers
Huberdeau solidified his high draft status Monday night with a nice finish on a goal 17 minutes into overtime against Owen Sound. That goal sends Huberdeau and his Saint John Sea Dogs into the Memorial Cup final and reinforces his status as a player who delivers biggest when he's needed the most.
My guess is that he has passed Kitchener's Gabriel Landeskog in most scouts' books (and probably already had before the start of the Memorial Cup). Has he closed on lead prospects Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Adam Larsson? Well, maybe. (I recently overheard some discouraging words about Larsson and that his season ranked as a disappointment.)
