It's just the third Tuesday of the NHL season and I've already slipped below the .500 mark with my weekly prognostications. After splitting two games on Oct. 12, I was a disappointing 1-3 last Tuesday. My Magic 8-Ball seems to be a little fogged up. I nailed the Bruins over the Caps, but failed to identify the Wild over the Canucks or the Flames edging the Predators. Then, in the late game, the Sharks couldn't come through for me against the pesky Hurricanes.
Tonight, I finally get a meatier schedule with six games on the docket. I don't see any of them as stone-cold locks, though. That's life in the NHL these days: The difference between winning and losing is paper-thin. Here are tonight's selections, otherwise known as my best guesses.
