The Stanley Cup final series is making its last few turns. At most, we have just four games left in the 2009-10 season. Where the heck did the time go? It seems like just yesterday that everyone was getting excited for the Winter Classic at Fenway. I can remember driving through a snowstorm to get back from Boston. Now, the temperatures are reaching into the 90s as we get set for a crucial Game 4 between the Hawks and Flyers in Philly.
At this rate, I know it won't be more than a blink of an eye before we're buckling ourselves in for another crazy free-agent summer. With that in mind, here are 15 skaters and stoppers who could be shopping their wares in the coming weeks.
1. Scott Niedermayer, D, Anaheim Ducks: On Thursday, the surefire Hall of Famer told me he'll announce his decision in the next few weeks. I imagine he'll hold back until the completion of the Cup finals. His choice is simple: re-sign in Anaheim or retire. He won't be going elsewhere. Although he didn't tell me which way he was leaning, I got a strong sense that he's going to hang up the skates. Stay tuned.
