Six historical notes on Game 7s

On Wednesday night, the Montreal Canadiens and Pittsburgh Penguins will meet in the 132nd Game 7 in league history. When there have been that many decisive games, you find some pretty interesting numbers.

Vince Masi and the hard-working wizards at ESPN's Stats & Information department -- with an assist from the Elias Sports Bureau -- compiled a mountain of statistical info about Game 7s. I figured I should share some of their excellent work with you. Now, I'm not quite sure what it all means; after all, each Game 7 brings a different set of circumstances. Still, these were some things that stood out for me.
