Well, what do you know: We got through a whole night of NHL games without an "incident." I hope Colin Campbell finally got a decent night's sleep.
He probably slept better than I did after a mediocre 6-5 mark with my Thursday night picks. The New Jersey Devils' shootout loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Washington Capitals' OT loss to the Carolina Hurricanes kept me from a much more impressive 8-3 record.
Then again, I shouldn't complain. The Phoenix Coyotes overcame a 3-0 deficit to give me a 4-3 OT win. Radim Vrbata's game-tying goal was a bouncer from center ice that eluded Florida Panthers G Tomas Vokoun. Without that, I'm a miserable 5-6. I have to extend a heartfelt thanks to Misters Vrbata and Vokoun.
With this week's picks behind me, here are five thoughts for Friday.
