Lack of NHL would drastically alter Olympic rosters

If you like the idea of NHL players skating for their respective countries at the Olympics, you'd better enjoy every second of the elite international competition in Vancouver. As I discussed in my column for ESPN The Magazine, there is no guarantee the league will continue its Olympic participation past these Games. Many NHL owners just aren't crazy about shouldering so much risk without getting much in return.
