Well, after months of speculation, Team Canada executive director Steve Yzerman and his management team (associate directors Ken Holland, Doug Armstrong and Kevin Lowe) released their 23-man Olympic roster. And, it was quite a show -- in front of 3,000 hockey-crazy fans in frigid Saskatoon.

In his opening remarks, Yzerman was clear in saying that he knew there were very good hockey players that were left off the roster. The Detroit Red Wings icon, who was omitted from Canada's 1991 Canada Cup team, certainly understands the disappointment that some of the players would be feeling. After all, there will be only one chance for these players to represent their country on home soil.

Here's a look at Yzerman's picks with my comments.
