Fan-demonium in Anaheim and more

I have a feeling that Anaheim Ducks captain Scott Niedermayer won't soon forget Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning at the Honda Center. Yeah, Niedermayer netted the OT game-winner, but that wasn't the most memorable part of his evening.

Afterward, when he was announced as the game's first star, he skated down the boards and sent his stick over the glass to a fan. It was intended for a little girl. Unfortunately, a group of adult fans began to battle for the stick and a brawl broke out in the crowd. The mild-mannered Niedermayer, who watched the melee unfold from the safety of the ice, was clearly stunned by the unexpected development.

The whole odd event was made even more surreal by the fact that the Honda Center spotlight was aimed on Niedermayer and the area where he deposited his stick. If you didn't see the bizarre incident, you just have to check it out.

Those fans, particularly the gal who started climbing over the seats to get her money's worth, definitely deserved five for fighting. Instead, I'll give you my Five for Friday.

Too see E.J. Hradek's five key things to watch for on the ice this weekend, you must be an ESPN Insider.
