The more you watch Lightning defenseman Dan Boyle, the more you realize just how good he is. In fact, for me, he's a legit Norris Trophy candidate. Boyle is a terrific puck mover who can impact the game with his offensive skills. That's the part of his game we know. But he's also a very competitive player who can get things done in the defensive zone. He made what might have been a season-saving play in front of his own net in the closing minutes of the Bolts' 4-2 win in Carolina on Friday night. It was the kind of play that doesn't show up in the box score.
