SAN JOSE -- I spent this weekend on the road. Three games in five days at the Shark Tank. It's been a while since I've been to what is now called HP Pavilion. Nice building. A whole lot of nice people work for the San Jose Sharks. Good people, good hockey people, make this job for me. The San Jose experience began with an ugly 5-2 loss to the Avs on Thursday. The performance was somewhat predictable. It was the Sharks' first game back at the Tank after a long road trip. For whatever reason, teams seem to struggle in that first home game after an extended tour around the league. Teams know about it. Teams talk about it. Teams try to avoid it. But, more often than not, teams fall victim to it.
