An NHL prospect recently told me that, as a 15-year-old, he felt he needed to show people that his entire life was about hockey -- because in three short years, judgment day would come.
Judgment day is, of course, the NHL draft. And some people, including Hockey Canada's Bob Nicholson, think it's all happening too soon. He told TSN, "I think right now it's like a hundred-yard dash for our players to be moving up a division."
So that's why Nicholson wants to raise the draft age from 18 to 19.
But a lot of people are misunderstanding how this would really impact the NHL. So let's take a look.
To see why the proposed changes would have little impact on the NHL or its young players, you must be an ESPN Insider
