Overall: Mankins redshirted in 2000, he started all 14 game of the 2001 season and he started all 14 game of the 2002 season. He missed the entire 2003 season with a knee injury but bounced back as a fulltime starter during his senior season in 2004. Mankins had a strong senior season and the injury did not appear to have any lingering affects, though durability remains an issue. While Mankins still needs to improve his technique and lower body strength, he has the feet, frame and tenacity that it takes to develop into a starting guard in the NFL. In our opinion, Mankins is one of the best guard prospects in this year's class and he has enough upside to warrant late-second or early-third round consideration in the 2005 draft.
