Overall: Green red-shirted at San Diego State in 2001 before transferring to San Diego Mesa College in 2002. He was named a team captain and he was named an honorable mention junior college All-American while at San Diego Mesa College. Green transferred to Montana in 2003 and he made an immediate impact. Coaches voted him Big Sky Conference "Newcomer of the Year", as he rushed for over 1,146 yards and 14 touchdowns on 252 carries, starting nine of the 13 games he played. As a senior in 2004, however, Green got off to a slow start and wound up splitting carries because of his ineffectiveness. He finished the season with just 638 yards and eight touchdowns on 160 carries.
