Overall: Collins was a partial qualifier in 2001 and sat out the season in order to become academically eligible. He started two of the 11 games he played in at strong safety during the 2002 season. As a junior in 2003, Collins moved to free safety, started all 12 games and finished with 21 tackles, seven passes broken up and six interceptions. As a senior in 2004, Collins moved to cornerback and once again was a fulltime starter. Collins is a developmental prospect with versatility after playing DC and DS in college. He has good size and excellent speed. He also developed into a dominant player at the small-school level. However, Collins is very raw and will need more time than most to make the transition to the NFL.
