Three Burning Questions

Who are the potential playmakers on this defense?
Cornerback Johnathan Joseph is a potential star in the making. He is extremely athletic. He needs to improve his hands and ball skills, but he is on his way to being a household name. First-round pick Leon Hall could supplant Deltha O'Neal as a starting cornerback. Hall isn't outstanding in any particular area, but he is very NFL-ready and has a chance to make a difference. Linebacker Ahmad Brooks needs more experience, but his upside is tantalizing. Safety Madieu Williams is a proven playmaker, but needs to step up his game in 2007. Robert Geathers established himself as a pass-rusher last year. While Geathers is not an every-down defensive end, the pressure he brings off the edge on throwing downs is important to Cincinnati's secondary. The Bengals made DE Justin Smith their franchise player. Smith isn't an elite player, but he is solid in all areas and is coming off his best season as a pro.
