Three Burning Questions
Can Jake Plummer get this team back to AFC Championship?
Even though Jake Plummer's numbers dipped in 2005, his interceptions decreased by 13 (from 20 to seven) and the Broncos finished with a 13-3 record. He also finished seventh in the AFC with a quarterback rating of 90.2. However, the biggest question in Denver is whether Plummer can lead this team to the Super Bowl. Plummer has a very good competitive demeanor and is a streaky passer who can get into rhythm with a strong running game and can make a lot of plays with his feet and arm. He is a more accurate passer on the move than in the pocket. His biggest drawback is his tendency to gamble and make poor decisions in the passing game. However, if the Broncos are to get back to the AFC Championship Game and beyond, Plummer must continue to play within himself and trust his strong supporting cast.
