- Rivers McCown, Football Outsiders
Last offseason, we did our yearly under-25 organizational rankings piece and named the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the best young team in football. Unfortunately, the Bucs didn't live up to that ranking in the slightest on either side of the ball. Injuries were a factor, especially on defense after Gerald McCoy went down with a torn biceps. Before that injury, Tampa Bay had given up only a 20 percent or higher DVOA on defense in two of their eight games. Once McCoy was lost for the season, they allowed it in five of their final eight.
Rivers McCown re-examines Football Outsiders' under-25 rankings, looking at three teams whose talent looks better than it did at the beginning of the season and three whose talent looks worse.
