Defense bolstering 49ers: What an amazing performance by the 49ers in their 48-3 victory over the Buccaneers. The 49ers are clearly the best team in the NFC West, and Jim Harbaugh should be a strong candidate for coach of the year honors. Their defense might just be the best in the league. Really, it might be. Tampa Bay was working on a short week after its Monday night win and had travel across the country for this contest, but the Bucs were utterly dominated in every phase of the game.
