Fastest fallers from the Top 200
Michael Turner, Joe Flacco and Jared Allen could fall down the ranks this year
Last week, I previewed some players who are poised to rise up amongst their peers this coming season. This week, I have listed some guys who worry me in their ability to keep their stock at its current price. Somewhat surprisingly -- since I don't see them as a team on the decline -- there are a lot of Baltimore Ravens mentioned below. Potentially falling players' current rank in our Top 200 is in parentheses.
QB: Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens (115)
I really had a tough time finding quarterbacks presently ranked in the Top 200 who I expect to regress by this time next year. Of course, I could take the easy way out and mention Tom Brady (1). That would not be an indictment on Brady's abilities, but rather just the fact that staying on such a lofty perch is just so difficult to do. But Flacco is at a pivotal point of his young career. He has all the ability in the world, but must be more consistent series to series, and he also must improve dealing with pressure around him. This isn't to say I'm not a believer in Flacco. He could thrive this year and with his excellent deep passing skills, the addition of Lee Evans could really pay off. But it is a pivotal campaign for the Ravens signal-caller.
