Maintaining a quality offensive line in today's NFL is a real challenge for NFL organizations. With such an emphasis on offensive spread formations and pass-heavy schemes, teams are looking for athletic guys up front who can play in space and get to the second level. Let's take a look at these positions in 2016 and project what the top 10 might look like.
Quite literally, he is the centerpiece of this offensive line, and he excels in just about every area. He has size and athletic ability, and he can adjust his game to suit his opponent. He also possesses enough power to handle physical nose tackles and enough range to get to the second level and block in space. He plays with a good base, uses his hands well, and his leverage and balance are excellent. He also can make all of the offensive-line calls when it comes to blocking schemes. Durability is a minor concern because he has been bothered by nagging ankle injuries, but if healthy, he will remain the best center in the NFL.
Gary Horton projects who the best offensive linemen will be in 2016. The list is made up of seasoned veterans, along with some new faces.
