The Dallas Cowboys traded away two picks in the top 45 to land Morris Claiborne early in the 2012 draft.

Even though Claiborne has had an up-and-down rookie campaign, the Cowboys should have no regrets about making such an aggressive move.

Claiborne is no longer listed in my top 10 or honorable mention section and at least one rookie corner has outplayed him this year, but he remains a great prospect. The fact is, as Claiborne's former LSU teammate, Patrick Peterson, found out last year, cornerbacks struggle in their first NFL seasons. They just do. Few corners in recent memory have come into the league and consistently shut down NFL receivers.
