After watching film of both teams, Scouts Inc. breaks down key elements of the Week 16 Colts-Chiefs matchup.
• Maintain a balanced attack: The Colts are a lot more effective when they can establish an even run-pass balance. As promising as QB Andrew Luck looks, he still will make some rookie mistakes, and those can be limited when the defense is not able to dictate play selection by down and distance. Rookie RB Vick Ballard had his best game in Week 15, gaining 105 yards (5.8 yards per carry) against a stout Houston defense. The Colts need his production to take some pressure off Luck and their passing game.
