After watching film of both teams, Scouts Inc. breaks down key elements of the Week 16 Falcons-Lions matchup.
• Calvin! The Falcons have struggled to stop tight ends more than wide receivers, but Calvin Johnson isn't an ordinary wide receiver. And he has a very good chance of breaking the single-season record for receiving yards. Johnson is nearly impossible to defend, but besides him, Detroit has little in terms of pass-catchers right now. The Lions use a high percentage of double-tight end sets and Brandon Pettigrew is now probably the Lions' next most accomplished receiver. But he has dropped far too many passes; collectively, dropped passes have been a problem for Detroit's receiving corps.
