After watching film of both teams, Scouts Inc. breaks down key elements of the Week 14 Dolphins-49ers matchup.
• Test the tackles: It is looking like the Dolphins will be without the services of left tackle Jake Long after he suffered a triceps injury last week. With rookie Jonathan Martin sliding over to the left side to replace Long, look for San Francisco to apply a lot of heat on passing downs with Aldon Smith, who has 17.5 sacks, and Ahmad Brooks, who has 5.5 sacks coming off the edge. With the Dolphins not being terribly effective on the ground, San Francisco should feel like it can gamble by bringing a lot of pressure on early downs.
