After watching film of both teams, Scouts Inc. breaks down key elements of the Week 10 Colts-Jaguars matchup.
• Take Wayne away: Reggie Wayne is clearly Andrew Luck's favorite target, and if he isn't a major part of the equation, Indianapolis often struggles on offense. That wasn't the case last week, though, when T.Y. Hilton and Donnie Avery combined for 210 yards. Hilton and Avery have great speed, and the Colts throw deep as much as any team in the NFL. Still, Wayne gets a ton of targets and the Jaguars have been generous to opposing wideouts. The Colts will use a lot of double-tight end sets with Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen, but they also employ a high percentage of three-wide receiver groupings. The Jaguars have done well this year in slowing down opposing tight ends, and a great deal of the credit goes to Dwight Lowery, who has quietly become one of the better safeties in the league. But Lowery and cornerback Rashean Mathis were inactive last week, and Jacksonville's defensive backs missed a lot of tackles in that contest. Fleener was inactive last week as well.
