After watching film of both teams, Scouts Inc. breaks down key elements of the Week 7 Cowboys-Panthers matchup.
• Continue with good protection: Cowboys QB Tony Romo was sacked only once last week in Baltimore and was not under constant duress. That is great progress, and the return of Phil Costa at center helped a great deal. The Panthers are not a great pass-rushing defense, but Dallas' protection has been rather suspect before Week 6, especially on the interior. And the Cowboys' offensive tackles have taken an inordinate amount of penalties. Besides Charles Johnson, rookie Frank Alexander is the only other pass-rusher Carolina has -- and he has proved to be effective wherever he lines up.
