After watching film of both teams, Scouts Inc. breaks down key elements of the Week 1 Bengals-Ravens matchup.
• Can Baltimore handle a deep Bengals defensive front? This is a Ravens O-line in transition, and it did not play with great consistency in the preseason. The Ravens are solid on the right side, which helps because their run game is right-handed, but the left side is not stable, and settling on the right five guys is a problem. Cincinnati can bring defensive pressure in waves and its mantra is to aggressively run to the ball and wear down the opposing O-line. With injuries in the secondary, the Bengals need to really pressure Ravens QB Joe Flacco with mostly their front four. If that happens, they can protect the guys on the back end.
