After breaking down film of both teams, Scouts Inc. offers 10 things to watch in the divisional-round playoff matchup between the Saints and 49ers.


1. Continue to dominate: It was close for a while, but New Orleans dismantled Detroit with an amazing 626 yards of offense. Led by Drew Brees, the Saints are simply on fire right now. However, San Francisco features the best combination of defense and special teams, and it is superb when it comes to starting field position. Also, the 49ers' kicking specialists, David Akers and Andy Lee, are about as good as it gets. The 49ers led the league by a sizable margin during the regular season with a plus-28 turnover differential. And as great as Brees is, he can be prone to interceptions, which is a key aspect of this game considering San Francisco's penchant for takeaways. Also, the Saints' offense averaged only 23.8 points per game outdoors, as opposed to the 38 points in dome games. Meanwhile, in their past three home contests, the 49ers have allowed a total of just 10 points.
