Panthers-Saints: 10 observations
After breaking down film of both teams, Scouts Inc. offers 10 things to watch in this week's Panthers-Saints matchup.
1. Carolina needs to run the ball: It's hardly a secret that the Panthers have one of the strongest running back tandems in the NFL with DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart sharing the load. Against what has been one of the stingiest run defenses in the NFL, the Arizona Cardinals, last Sunday, both backs averaged in excess of 5 yards per carry and Carolina put up 270 yards on the ground. New Orleans' defense is improved over last year but as was evidenced Monday night, when the Falcons' Michael Turner averaged 7.6 yards per carry while gaining 151 yards, the Saints can be run on.
