Why To Watch
This is the NFC game everyone had been looking forward to for a few weeks now. Two storied franchises, with an extensive history between them, are meeting with identical 10-1 records and a chance to get a leg up in the race for home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs. This will be Green Bay's second consecutive Thursday road game after their dominating victory at Detroit on Thanksgiving, and the Packers have now won six straight this season and 14 of their last 15 dating back to last season. Green Bay's cornerbacks were stifling and the offense was extremely efficient and productive against the Lions despite rarely running the ball early on. The Packers are playing loose, fundamentally sound and with great confidence behind their leader, Brett Favre.
Both of these powerhouses will have a standard week to prepare for this extremely important contest as Dallas won on Thanksgiving as well, routing the Jets. That victory extended Dallas' winning streak to five games. And while Green Bay has yet to lose on the road this year the Packers did sustain some potentially significant injuries last week. Still, this has all the makings of an exceptional football game between the two best teams in the NFC, which also happen to feature the two best quarterbacks in the conference in Favre and Tony Romo.
